Hydrangeas that Never Fade

Nantucket’s famous blue hydrangeas are as iconic as our daffodils. Blooming now into August, their vibrant color is part of summer on the island. Now, with some help from Nantucket artist Barbara Capizzo, you can take home Nantucket blue hydrangeas that will never fade.

Sweet Inspirations, the island’s artisan chocolatier at 26 Centre Street, has just introduced a beautiful Nantucket Hydrangea collectible tin that can be filled with their world-famous Cranberry Creations chocolates. The original artwork by Barbara Capizzo has been rendered in tin by American tinsmiths. The chocolates, of course, have been created by Sweet Inspirations.

Perfect for housewarming gifts, wedding favors, and for a special treat from Nantucket for the ones you return home to, these tins will last long after the sweet mementos inside have been enjoyed. Purchase them at the Sweet Inspirations shop on Centre Street or you can order them online at www.NantucketChocolate.com

New Walk-In Care at NCH

Nantucket Cottage Hospital has launched a new Walk-In Care service during July and August and has expanded urgent care capacity within its existing physician offices to help island residents and visitors access prompt medical attention – with no appointments necessary – for the treatment of non-life-threatening ailments.

Through July 14, Walk-In Care is available Monday-Friday from 10 am to 6 pm; July 15 through August 15, it will be open daily from 10 am to 6 pm; from August 16-29, it will again be available Monday-Friday 10 am to 6 pm. The Walk-In Care service is located in the Anderson Building on the Nantucket Cottage Hospital campus and staffed by board certified family physician Dr. Jeffrey Safer, along with a team of talented clinicians.

This Walk-In Care pilot program is intended for people on Nantucket who do not have an established relationship with a primary care physician. For those who already have a doctor on the island, NCH has recently added new clinicians within the existing physician offices, increasing capacity for urgent care visits and the ability to schedule same-day appointments. Patients with existing primary care physicians should call their doctor’s office to receive prompt medical attention for a non-life-threatening condition.
