While many know the G.S. Hill Gallery and Hill’s of Nantucket for their paintings by talented artist Greg Hill and their wonderful collection of Nantucket gifts, some may not know that in the past three years they have become a competitive source for pearl jewelry on the island. Judi Hill and her longtime friend Pam Freitus of Pearlhill continue to bring a special collection of jewelry to the shop, and nothing says classic elegance and style than a beautiful set of pearls.
All pieces are handmade by Pam, and everything is American made, with the exception of the pearls that Pam picks out herself on trips to Shanghai. The collection has continued to grow over the past year, and the two are always brainstorming new ideas. This year they have introduced their unique pearl coil bracelets to the collection, which are classy and easy to wear. They are available in a variety of colors, including white, aqua, champagne, green, brown, and pink. They also carry one-of-a-kind necklaces and earrings. Another addition this year is the Hawaiian Pearl Lei necklace, which is made of freshwater pearls with a mother-of-pearl shell accent. At a price range of $20-$800, it is their mission to make beautiful pearls affordable.
The G.S. Hill Gallery and Hill’s of Nantucket is located at 40 Straight Wharf, next to the Hyline Ferry. They are open daily in season.
