Artist Kathleen A. Duncombe is well-known on Nantucket for her expertise in art and collections—she has been a respected part of the island art scene for more than a quarter century. Her shop, Made on Nantucket at 20 Old South Wharf, is filled with original art, prints, photography, jewelry, art glass, decorative items, and apparel, all exclusive to Made on Nantucket and all by island artists and craftspeople, herself included. Her collection of vintage Bakelite is one of largest on the East Coast, and collectors often discover rare and unusual pieces to treasure.
Kathleen loves introducing people to the many talented artists she represents. This summer she is sharing her many very special pieces by hosting Trunk Shows at her shop on Old South Wharf every Sunday from noon to 4 pm through August.
This Sunday, July 31, you can fill your jewelry box with a variety of stunning estate jewelry pieces from several international private collections. Bracelets, bangles, necklaces, earrings, and rings in gold and silver, some with pearls and some with gems will be on sale. There are many styles for all ages.
Sunday, August 7, stop by Made on Nantucket for a Trunk Show featuring hard-to-find prints by Nantucket artists. Works of different sizes to fit every room are by well-known artists including William Welch, Jack Brown, Tom Mielko, Marilyn Chamberlain, and several others will be for sale. Some of the prints are signed, and all are in limited number.
