The buzz in Britain is about the new royal baby, but here on Nantucket, the buzz is about Katherine Hooker, favored designer for the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, who will be visiting Johnston’s Cashmere at 4 Federal Street this weekend and next.
From 10 am to 6 pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 26-28 and August 2-4 (also mid-week by appointment), Hooker will be showing her stunning new designs for autumn and winter.  Katherine’s coats and jackets are beautifully sculpted and infused with a modern edge.  More than 150 different fabric swatches of tweeds, silks, linens and cashmeres are available.  Color and weave combinations allow clients to match the mood, flavor, trim, lining. and even the buttons of their garment exactly as they please.  Personal taste is honored at Katherine Hooker London, but clients may also choose from a wide range of ready made pieces as well.  Each piece is individually made in London.
