Seth Meyers to Perform

Comedian and writer Seth Meyers will be performing live on Nantucket Tuesday, August 19 at the Nantucket Performing Arts Center (NPAC) in two special stand-up comedy performances. Tickets for the 6 pm and the 8:30 pm shows are available at NantucketPerformingArts.org or by calling 508-680-0003.

“When we started Nantucket Performing Arts Center—which somehow feels like both five years and five minutes ago—we chose the name intentionally,” said NPAC Executive Director Drew Kowalkowski. “While our initial programming has been focused on theater, our vision is to present the full breath of the performing arts to audiences on Nantucket, bringing world-class artists to the island while becoming a year-round resource for the island community. We’re proud to bring one of the most acclaimed voices in comedy to our intimate stage this summer.”

Seth Meyers is an Emmy Award-winning writer, New York Times bestselling author, and host of NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” since 2014.

Meyers began his TV career with “Saturday Night Live” in 2001 where he was a cast member for 13 seasons. He served as head writer for 9 seasons and “Weekend Update” anchor for 8. He has released two critically acclaimed stand-up specials to date: “Lobby Baby” (Netflix) and “Seth Meyers: Dad Man Walking” (HBO/Max.) In all, Meyers has garnered 33 Emmy nominations for his work in television.

In addition to his onscreen success, Meyers is a New York Times bestselling author, having published his first picture book “I’m Not Scared, You’re Scared,” in 2022. He currently co-hosts two podcasts: “Family Trips with the Meyers Brothers,” alongside his brother Josh Meyers and “The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast,” with Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone.

Meyers performs stand-up to sold out crowds across the country and coheadlines a monthly residency with John Oliver at New York’s Beacon Theatre.

NPAC is Nantucket’s newest destination for the arts. The newly-formed nonprofit organization acquired the property that was formerly home to the White Heron Theatre in April of this year. Previously-announced programming includes the plays “What the Constitution Means to Me (now running through July 17) and Theatre People (August 1-14) and the concert “A Night For Swifties” (July 9-11). The organization is approximately halfway through a $12 million capital campaign to purchase the property, preserve it as a space for the performing arts, renovate it to accommodate a wider range of events and community uses, and ensure its operation for years to come, including year-round programming and partnerships with other local arts organizations.
