Holiday Small Works Art Show on Nantucket

The holiday season is festive on Washington Street during November and December, as the Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) opens their annual holiday show with two celebrations. Their annual Holiday Small Works exhibition opens Friday, November 27, with an evening reception from 5:30-7:30
pm, and just one week later, on Friday, December 4, the Cool Yule Party & Reception from 5:30-7:30 pm will bring more holiday cheer to the gallery. Both receptions are free to the public.

The Holiday Small Works Exhibition showcases oil paintings, watercolors, ceramics, photographs, jewelry, and wooden sculpture in the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, 19 Washington Street, all sized to make it easy to give the gift of art. “This show has become a long-standing tradition of the AAN and will be a particularly exciting and marvelous way to kick-off the holiday season during our seventieth year,” said AAN executive director Cecil Barron Jensen. “With over two-hundred artist members in our organization, there is truly something for everyone on your holiday lists.”

“All of the artwork has a size restriction of 11 x 14 or smaller, so for those with limited wall space, this is the ideal exhibition to find that perfect gift,” said AAN gallery sales manager Peter J. Greenbalgh.

The exhibition will be on display Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5pm through December 24, plus from 11 am to 4 pm on Sunday, November 29 and Sunday, December 6.

At 10 am, before the gallery opens on Saturday, November 28, The Solo Show Spotlight Artist, Michele LeMaitre, will chat with guests and answer questions about her work and her process.
