All this week and through next Friday, August 9, you can get fit with fitness expert Tom Holland in the fresh morning air of Jetties Beach. Each morning (Monday through Friday) from 8 to 9 am, this accomplished exercise physiologist leads participants through 60 minutes of cardiovascular drills, strength exercises, plyometric and agility stations, team events and more.
Since 1998, Holland’s summer Nantucket Beach Fitness Camp has helped thousands of all ages get into shape.
From the beginner exerciser to advanced athlete, Holland provides a fun yet challenging workout tailored to each “camper’s” personal fitness level. Tom began as a personal trainer and fitness instructor in New York City, spending years honing his craft as both a personal trainer and group fitness instructor before striking out on his own. He is committed to helping people better their lives through fitness and through his positive message of “Believe in Yourself.” Holland has encouraged and coached thousands of people to reach their fitness goals; from losing weight to climbing mountains, running marathons and completing Ironman triathlons.
A elite endurance athlete himself, Holland has been a member of PowerBar’s Team Elite since 2003. He has run over 50 marathons including races in Italy, France, Ireland, and Hawaii. He is a sub-3 hour marathoner and was the winner of the 2007 Dutchess County Marathon. Tom has also run several ultra marathons including a 9th place finish at the “Run to the Sun” ultra marathon, a 36-mile run from sea level to the 10,023 foot summit of Haleakala on the island of Maui and the JFK 50-mile ultra. He is also a 21-time Ironman triathlete with a PR of 9:56.
Holland is the author of four books, and is currently writing a fifth, entitled Swim, Bike, Run – Eat!, to be published in 2014.
