AAN Hosts Special Online Exhibit: By Land & By Sea

As the air fills with the scent of blooming roses and the harbor moorings bob with boats, the Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) is opening a new exhibition online entitled By Land & By Sea. It will go live on Friday, June 18 at 10 am with art available 24/7 through Friday July 9 at sales.nantucketarts.org/GiftShop.aspx

“By offering these online exhibitions in tandem with our classic in-person gallery shows, we are able to provide our artists with a second venue in which to showcase different works, while the consumers have the convenience of viewing the art in the comfort of their own homes,” said AAN artistic director & curator Robert Frazier.

This curated online exhibition will showcase one-of-a-kind landscapes and seascapes, allowing our artists two opportunities to exhibit their work, because the online show is not the same work that is shown in our Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery at 19 Washington St.

Currently showing in the AAN gallery on Washington Street is an exhibit entitled Blue Periods that features pieces which stress colors found in nature, with a particular focus on blues.

“Just as we do in the gallery, when artworks sell, the artist has the chance to add another piece, so there will be additional works added throughout the online exhibition. This will give the public ample opportunity to find the ideal piece for that empty space, new business or home,” added Frazier.

Artists Association of Nantucket has in-person and online exhibitions through the season. And mark your calendar for Saturday, July 3 and Saturday August 14, when AAN will host their annual Sidewalk Art Shows, both free to attend at their Visual Arts Center on Amelia Drive.
