This Sunday, August 25, Egan Maritime Institute’s Young Members Committee welcomes island community members of all ages to come to an afternoon of food, games, live music, and fun at the Nantucket Shipwreck and Lifesaving Museum, 158 Polpis Road.
From 3 to 6 pm, this end-of-summer event will include nautical lawn games, face painting, artifact demonstrations, and a not-to-be-missed sea shanty concert. Tickets are $35 for adults and $10 for children—unlimited BBQ and alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages are included in the cost of admission. Purchase tickets now at eganmaritime.org/events/family-night-at-the-museum to guarantee entry. There is also an option to pre-purchase lawn game tickets.
Egan Maritime Institute promotes and preserves Nantucket’s maritime traditions. They strive to ensure that our island’s culture and community continue to be shaped by its seafaring legacy, through programs in the classroom, at the museum, and on the water.
They envision a Nantucket where every resident and visitor experiences the island’s rich maritime history and culture and where future generations of Nantucketers will be inspired to explore maritime-focused learning and careers.
