The Dorothy Hamill Adult Figure Skating Fantasy Camp will be presenting a skating performance free to the public on Friday, August 24 at Nantucket Ice, 1 Backus Lane. Doors open at 1pm. Come see what the camp is all about. Watch as the campers demonstrate new skills and skate alongside International and Olympic skating stars. There will be raffle prizes and free giveaways.
Hamill started the camp in 2009 based on her vision of a retreat for adult skaters where they could learn, skate, relax, and bond over one common passion – figure skating. Due to popular demand the camp has become an annual event and a huge success. Skaters of all skill levels are welcome and lessons are tailored to meet the needs of individual participants.
“New Beginnings,” choreographed by Tim Murphy and staff, features Campers alongside Coaches Peter Carruthers, Steven Cousins, Randy Gardner, Elin Gardiner Schran, Julie Patterson, JoJo Starbuck, and Olympic Gold Medalist Dorothy Hamill.
The camp performance on Friday afternoon is the culmination of a week of work, fun, and lasting memories and is open to the public. It is often cited as campers’ favorite part of the week!
