By using mainly oil paint sometimes mixed with resin, wax and gold leaf, artist Jessica Sosebee engages the viewer not only by means of subject matter, but through the subtlety of dimension, tranquility with her choice of pallet, and with the harmonies of texture, all while capturing the splendor of Nantucket’s wildlife. The artist splits her time between Nantucket and London and specializes in large-scale or multiple custom pieces for site-specific areas. Her work can be found in homes across North America and Europe. Meet this talented artist on Friday, August 30 from 6-8 p.m. at the opening reception for her new show at Sosebee Studio & Fine Art Gallery, a block off Main Street at 8 Washington Street.
