This Friday, July 19, from 5 to 7 pm, the Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) will host a reception celebrating their Blue Skylines exhibition in the Big Gallery. The exhibition opened July 12 and will be on display through Monday, July 29.
“Blue Skylines focuses on large works by a bevy of premier Nantucket artists, from abstract pieces to island images,” said AAN artistic director and curator Robert Frazier. The Big Gallery lends itself beautifully to showcasing larger artworks, with its lofty ceilings and extra-long windows allowing light to pour into the upstairs space.
The Big Gallery is open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and on Sundays from 12 noon to 4 pm; located on the second floor of the Thomas Macy Warehouse at 12 Straight Wharf, the building was home to AAN’s Kenneth Taylor Galleries from 1945 to 1988.
