Tasty New Kind of Sea Turtle
Aunt Leah’s Fudge has brought a couple of new fudge flavors to town this year. Using kosher salt with sweet treats is all the rage, so Aunt Leah has created Sea Turtle, which melds together chocolate or vanilla fudge with caramel, pecans and sea salt. Aunt Leah says, “I follow what my customers want. My regulars come in and tell me what they think I should be making, and I pay attention.” Free samples are always available, so you can try before you buy. Find Aunt Leah’s Fudge in the courtyard on Straight Wharf.
Bake Shop Breakfast Bake
Nantucket Bake Shop has their own answer to the breakfast sandwich. Owner Magee Detmer introduces the Breakfast Bake, a handy and hearty breakfast in a savory hash brown crust filled with cheese, eggs, and bacon or sausage. These treats come in a little round paper dish that allows you to enjoy them held in your hand or with a utensil. They’re the perfect portion for a quick breakfast on the way to work or pick up several for your house full of summer guests to enjoy before a day at the beach. Breakfast Bakes are just $5.25 at Nantucket Bake Shop’s new location, 17½ Old South Road.

New Connector for Fast Ferry
Nantucket Regional Transit Authority (NRTA) can alleviate your summer island traffic stresses through a new Park & Ride pilot program. Taking the fast ferry off-island? Park your car overnight for free at 2 Fairgrounds Road, get picked up for free by the Fast Ferry Connector NRTA bus, and taken directly to your ferry dock. This new shuttle bus will also pick you up at the dock when you return, as buses are timed to meet departing and arriving fast ferries from 7 am to 8 pm at both Steamship Authority and Hy-Line Cruises. Talk about stress-free transit! This new option will be especially helpful now that overnight parking is no longer permitted in the Washington Street parking lot. Visit nrtawave.com for details and exact times.
