Nantucket Land Council (NLC), an island organization dedicated to protecting Nantucket’s natural world and rural character, is hosting two opportunities in a week to be out in nature and enjoy our island’s beauty.
To join the fun, get out into nature, and hunt for monarchs call the Nantucket Land Council office at 508-228-2818 to register and find out the meeting location. Participants should wear long pants and closed-toe shoes to comfortably explore the areas where monarchs like to feed. This is a free event.
On Sunday, October 1 from 11 am to 2 pm, the Land Council is inviting the public to their first ever Family Fun Day.
The NLC is proud to be the leading force in working to preserve Camp Richard, a beautiful 100-acre Boy Scout camp, from development, and this event will be their celebration of the progress made to date. In addition to playing and exploring the grounds of Camp Richard, the NLC has outdoor activities planned, including guided nature walks, games, crafts, and a scavenger hunt.
Tom Mulholland will bring his redtailed hawk for everyone to enjoy. This event is open to all ages, all activities are free and lunch will be available for a donation to the NLC. The NLC appreciates the Nantucket Boy Scouts support of this free family event.
