Sky’s the Limit in the AAN Gallery

“As the island embraces the summer and all its assorted offerings,
we thought this a notable title for a gallery show what with the amazing
sunrises, daily cloud formations, and stunning sunsets, truly the
sky is the limit for the great island art we carry.”

—AAN gallery manager Peter J. Greenhalgh.

The Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) is pleased to announce the opening of their Sky’s The Limit exhibition with a festive reception this Friday, July 26, from 6 to 8 pm in the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, downtown at 19 Washington Street.

Each AAN member artist has been invited to bring in two works that range between oils, watercolors, pastels, encaustic, sculptures, mixed media, wooden carvings, photographs, textiles, cremains, and even some jewelry. With more than three hundred artist members, there truly is something for every taste and esthetic.

The Solo Show Spotlight Artist during this exhibition is Elizabeth Congdon, who will also discuss her work during a Spotlight Artist Talk this Saturday, July 27 at 10 am in the gallery, 19 Washington Street.

The Artist Association’s Sky’s The Limit exhibition will be on display from July 26 through August 12 at the award-winning Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, just a stone’s throw from Main Street in the heart of Nantucket’s Cultural District. The gallery is one of the most comprehensive island venues for local art. Open Monday through Saturday, from 10 am to 6 pm (closed from 2 to 2:30pm) and on Sundays from 11 am to 4 pm.
