The Seinfeld Series Returns to Theatre Workshop of Nantucket

Theatre Workshop of Nantucket

Need to refine your acting skills? Interested in a behind- the-scenes look at producing theater? This July and August, the Theatre Workshop of Nantucket is bringing back The Seinfeld Series: Master Classes in Theatre and Performance, an exciting educational program open to the public. All three sessions (July 9, August 6 and 20) are free, but because seating is limited, tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Seinfeld Series supports the mission of Theatre Workshop by introducing neighbors, friends, colleagues and audiences to the theatre, its productions, resources and initiatives. Plus, it’s a way for TWN to thank supporters for years of encouragement, support, participation and applause.

The Seinfeld Series was conceived by Judith Seinfeld, a long-standing supporter and member of the Theatre Workshop board. Seinfeld has long been a devoted advocate of theater and is the creative engine behind the Seinfeld Series as a benefit to the friends of the Theatre Workshop.

“The series will implement a “thank you” to all people on Nantucket loving the theater. We expect the Seinfeld Series to be a highly successful program for our organization” said Seinfeld.

“As we celebrate our 60th Anniversary this season, we will continue the tradition of sharing this art form not only through mainstage performances, but by exploring artistic opportunities that feed the soul and stimulate our senses,” explained Justin Cerne, Artistic Director at Theatre Workshop.

“We have designed these events to bring our community together without solicitation throughout the entire island by providing workshops, classes, dialogue and programs to increase our community’s theatrical participation,” said Cerne.

“The Seinfeld Series will be an opportunity to celebrate the vibrancy of the Nantucket arts community,” added Theatre Workshop Managing Director Jonathan Jensen. “This year we’ve selected three speakers that will bring unique experiences and philosophies to our stages. We dedicated to shaping the vision of how theater can transform a community and enrich the life of our island.” Three partners have agreed to share their work with Theatre Workshop for these free Saturday morning events: Mark Robbins, President and CEO of the American Academy in Rome; Paul Binder, Founding Artistic Director of the Big Apple Circus; and the entire creative team of Annie Get Your Gun and The Full Monty.

Free tickets to The Seinfeld Series three sessions, July 9, August 6, and August 20, must be reserved through the Theatre Workshop Box Office at theatreworkshop.com or by calling 508-228-4305.
