Enjoy an Online AAN Auction Before & After the Annual Gala

AAN Gala Returns

The Artists Association of Nantucket’s annual summer Gala is a favorite affair and always sells out. This year for those not able to attend or who missed out on tickets, the Artists Association is inviting members of the community and all who love art and want to support the Association’s mission, to participate in a companion silent auction online to the AAN Gala and Live Auction.

Online bidding begins on Friday, July 15, at 6 am, and bidding will end Monday, July 18, at 5 pm. Follow the auction link on NantucketArts.org.

For the third straight year, AAN is using 32auctions as the bidding platform, and the art selections include works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, ceramics, textiles, jewelry, and photography.

As guests participate in the online auction, they will notice there is also a buy-it-now component—where pieces may be purchased outright—if for instance, they find a favorite artist’s work or know they won’t have time to go back online. Auction prices do not include tax and shipping. Following the close of the auction, AAN will contact the buyers regarding additional charges, if applicable.

Glass artists Julia and Robin Rogers will be showcasing their talents during the AAN Gala this week, and on Sunday, July 17, they will demonstrate their art to the public with a mobile glass-blowing unit parked at the AAN’s Visual Arts Center at 24 Amelia Drive. “It’s a rare and special opportunity to witness the beautiful process of glass-blowing,” says AAN Executive Director Courtney Bridges. This free Community Glass Blowing Demonstration will be held from 1 to 4 pm.

The Artists Association of Nantucket’s mission is to foster the visual arts on Nantucket. Donor support enables them to do that by offering educational opportunities, preserving the rich legacy of the island’s art colony, and supporting treasured island artists at the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, The Big Gallery, and in online shows.
