Connecting to Care

access nantucket

access nantucket, formerly Nantucket AIDS Network (NAN), is celebrating their new mission and new name this weekend at an open house and at their first fundraising event.

Friday, September 6, from 4 to 6 pm in their offices at 35 Old South Road, access nantucket will host an open house with special honorary guest Cheryl Bartlett, Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health & NAN founder. Mingle, enjoy refreshments and learn more about “connecting to care” and their new mission of supporting “the health and wellness of our island community by connecting people to information and critical human services that have the power to transform the quality of their lives.”

access nantucket will introduce a new, streamlined system to connect to the information and critical human services that are available to support the health and wellness of our island community. “access nantucket is the place to go to get connected to the information and services you need on Nantucket,” said access nantucket’s Executive Director, Francesca Ifantiedes. “By offering a comprehensive resource that can be accessed on-line, by phone or in-person, we want to make it easy for everyone to know about the services and supports systems available to them.”

On Sunday, September 8, access nantucket will host Casino Blū — a night of fun, food, drinks, dancing, and your favorite casino games – all in support of access nantucket!  “As the first official access nantucket fundraiser we want to make Casino Blū a real party,” said Fundraising Chair Randy Laufenberg. “We look forward to bringing our summer and year-round community together for a fun night, by creating an ‘off-island escape’ without having to cross the ocean.”

Casino Blu will be held from 6 to 10 pm in the Nantucket Hotel & Resort, 77 Easton Street. Tickets are on sale now for $95 at access nantucket www.accessnantucket.org.  Or you can call 508.228.3955 or stop by the access nantucket table at the Sustainable Nantucket Farmers & Artisans Market this Saturday.
