The Australian Bee Gees Show comes to Nantucket for Pops

Nantucket will be throwing it back to the 1970s on Jetties Beach this summer when Nantucket Cottage Hospital and the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra welcome The Australian Bee Gees Show as their special guest for the 19th annual Boston Pops on Nantucket concert.

General admission tickets for the event are on sale now at NantucketHospital.org/Pops.

The Australian Bee Gees Show is a multimedia theatrical concert experience that takes a nostalgic trip through the legacy the Bee Gees left behind while celebrating over four decades of the infectious music written by the Gibb brothers. Together for more than 19 years, The Australian Bee Gees Show has mastered the look, sound and personality of the adored trio, while cementing their reputation as the world’s leading Bee Gees show.

On Saturday, August 8, The Australian Bee Gees Show will join conductor Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra for a night of music, dancing and fireworks at one of the island’s most beloved beaches.

The Australian Bee Gees Show will perform The Bee Gees most memorable songs, including hits like, “Staying Alive,” “You Should Be Dancing,” “How Deep Is Your Love,” and “Jive Talkin’.”

The Australian Bee Gees Show follows previous special guests for the Boston Pops on Nantucket concert including last year’s act, ARRIVAL From Sweden, an ABBA tribute band, as well as former special guests Matthew Morrison, Michael Cavanaugh, Carly Simon, Linda Eder, Joel Grey, and Rockapella.

The annual Boston Pops on Nantucket concert is the largest single fundraiser for Nantucket Cottage Hospital and brings thousands of people together at Jetties Beach. All funds generated during the event stay on Nantucket to sustain the hospital’s year-round commitment to the health and wellbeing of the island community. This year’s concert is chaired by Michael Lorber, the Senior Vice President at Douglas Elliman Real Estate, an island summer resident and a founding member of The Friends of Nantucket Cottage Hospital.

Nantucket Island Resorts / Jill and Stephen Karp return once again as presenting sponsors of the Boston Pops on Nantucket concert. Major sponsors for 2015 once again include Time Inc.’s Real Simple magazine.

Nantucket Cottage Hospital, an affiliate of the Massachusetts General Hospital and member of Partners HealthCare, is a community hospital that serves an island 30 miles at sea. Founded in 1911, the hospital maintains a deep tradition of providing a full range of high-quality health and wellness services in a safe, compassionate environment. Nantucket Cottage Hospital ensures these health care services are readily accessible to all Nantucket residents and visitors. Affectionately known as “America’s Orchestra,” the Boston Pops is the most recorded and arguably the most beloved orchestra in the country, beginning with the establishment of the modern-era Pops by Arthur Fiedler and continuing through the innovations introduced by John Williams and the new-millennium Pops spearheaded by Keith Lockhart.
