Artists Association of Nantucket Hosts 2021 Valentine’s Exhibit Online Starting Feb. 5

Although we’re in the depths of winter’s cold—the landscape is devoid of most color, the wind-swept harbor holds few boats, and wisps of smoke from cozy fireplaces abound—the Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) is opening a special February Valentine’s Work Online exhibition on Friday, February 5, at 9 am, with art available 24/7 through Saturday, Feb. 13.

“2021 marks our tenth year of hosting a festive St. Valentine’s exhibition, although this is our first online Valentine show,” said AAN gallery manager Peter J. Greenhalgh.  “Out of an abundance of caution both for our artists and the public, AAN is thrilled to offer these exciting and imaginative works in this online format.”

“This curated off-season exhibition will showcase affordable art by our local artist members and feature not only paintings in oil, acrylic, pastel, and mixed media, but also photographs and unique ceramics. In this way we are able to offer the public wonderful work for sale while giving our artists the opportunity to exhibit some of their newer pieces, in a safe manner while viewed in the comfort of your own home,” said AAN artistic director & curator Robert Frazier.

“We are honored to be hosting this Valentine’s online, which we believe is a celebration of the warm colors of this mid-month holiday, and we feel everyone will find that perfect valentine’s gift for the special people in their lives,” said AAN executive director Courtney Bridges. “And remember gift certificates are always a welcomed option!”
