Here Comes the Sun: New AAN Online Exhibit

Wintery winds, wild seas, and occasional snow showers…must be mid-winter on Nantucket, the far-away island. What better time to look forward to summer sunshine?

The Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) is opening its second 2022 online exhibition, Here Comes the Sun, on Friday March 4, with art available 24/7 through April 8.  You may peruse and purchase island art from the warmth and comfort of your own home at NantucketArts.org.

“The title Here Comes the Sun was chosen because this is the time of year when most of us are craving longer days and more warmth, so what better way to cheer up your home than with some local art by our talented artists” said AAN artistic director & curator Robert Frazier. “We have so many talented artists, we truly believe there is something for every esthetic in this curated online show,” added Frazier.

Works include but are not limited to: oils, watercolor, pastels, mixed media, ceramics, photographs, textiles, and jewelry. Works will be added throughout the five-week online exhibition, and, with close to three hundred artists members, the range and selection of work will be quite diverse.

“Our local AAN artist members participate throughout the year in online as well as gallery exhibitions, and we are grateful they continue to help keep our award-winning gallery one of the most comprehensive venues for local art,” added AAN gallery director Peter J. Greenhalgh.
