Annual Cool Yule Party to Celebrate the Season

Steaming mulled cider, softly falling snow, cozy fires; holly, winterberries, sleigh bells, quiet streets; a windswept harbor, frothy eggnog, flaming plum puddings; festive art, and unique gifts are all signs of a Nantucket holiday.

Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) is delighted to host a festive Cool Yule Party for their Small Works Exhibition on Friday, November 30 from 5:30-7:30 pm, free and open to the public.

Holiday Small Works | Nantucket, MAShowcasing gifts of oil paintings, watercolors, ceramics, photographs, island- themed jewelry, and wooden and cast glass sculptures in the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, 19 Washington Street, the exhibition will be on display through December 23.

“This is a long-standing holiday tradition for the island community, and we feel supporting local Nantucket artists is a particularly meaningful way to kick off the holiday season,” said AAN interim executive director Robert Frazier. “With over three hundred artist members in our organization, there is a wide variety of beautiful work from which to choose. I can’t think of a better holiday gift than a one-of-a-kind work of art.”

“All of the artwork has a size restriction of 12 x 16 inches or smaller, so for those wishing to give holiday gifts of art or with limited wall space, this is the ideal exhibition to find that perfect piece,” said AAN gallery manager Peter J. Greenhalgh.

Solo Show Spotlight Artist during this exhibition is Ellen Metzger O’Shea.

The Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery is just two blocks off Main Street at 19 Washington Street. The gallery is open Monday–Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm and 2:30 to 5 pm. The gallery will also be open on Sunday November 25 & Sunday, December 2 & 23)
