Fine Art of Wine
This year at the annual Nantucket Wine Festival Grand Tasting, participants can enjoy art with their wine.
Nantucket artist Gregory S. Hill and his wife and partner Judi Hill are introducing G.S. Hill’s “Corkscrew Art.” These fun and whimsical images of a traditional wing corkscrew with flags hanging from either “wing” are available as original oils on birchwood (5”x5”) and as signed, limited-edition gicleé prints. There are also marble wine stoppers and marble coasters featuring Hill’s corkscrew paintings, as well as beautifully finished cherry wood boxes adorned with the art in which you can store the coasters, the stoppers, or other treasures.

The GS Hill corkscrew art and wine accessories are currently available with the U.S.A. flag paired with flags from a dozen different countries, states, and regions. Last fall, the Ambassador to
Luxembourg commissioned an original depicting the flag of Luxembourg with the flag of the United States of America. G.S. HIll is accepting other commissions as well: you can have him paint your choice of country flag, college pennant, family crest, vineyard label, or corporate logo. These paintings can then also be ordered as custom coasters or custom wine stoppers.
These colorful works join the wine glasses adorned with five Nantucket memorable place names that the Hills sell at their shop at 40 Straight Wharf.
In addition to the art, Judi Hill is also introducing a new line of her pearl jewelry in honor of the Nantucket Wine Festival. These American-made bracelets feature freshwater pearls in three colors: rosé, champagne, and merlot, interspersed with attractive silver plated charms of a wine glass, grapes, wine bottle, corkscrew, and cheese plate. The perfect gift to remember your visit to the Nantucket Wine Festival.
G.S. Hill’s "Corkscrew Art" will debut at the Nantucket Yacht Club during the three Grand Tasting events on May 21 and 22, and the artist will be present all day on Saturday, May 21. Before and after the Wine Festival, these and other fine arts and gifts by G.S. and Judi Hill are available at, 40 Straight Wharf.
