Family Fun Fridays
Every Friday afternoon this summer through August 29, families are encouraged to join the staff of the Maria Mitchell Association for “Family Fun Fridays.” These programs are specially designed to engage all ages and have themes that change every week.
This Friday, June 27, the program will feature Insect and Spider Ecology. Maria Mitchell Association teachers will introduce collection and identification methods. July 4, families will learn about island bogs, how they fit into Nantucket’s ecosystem, and who lives there. “In Search of Horsehoe Crabs” is the program scheduled for July 11, and on July 18, participants will learn about vernal pools in “Wicked Big Puddles.”
Family Fun Fridays begin at 2 pm. Pre-registration is required and can be done online at www.mmo.org. Fees are $35 per adult-child pair ($25 per pair for Maria Mitchell Assn. members), and additional children are $10 each. For more details, visit the website or call 508-228-9198.
