The band will transport the audience back to the ‘70s and bring back to life the iconic music, fashion and energy of ABBA, one of the most successful acts in the history of pop music. ARRIVAL From Sweden’s recent shows include unforgettable collaborations with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, among many others.

On Saturday, August 9, ARRIVAL From Sweden will join conductor Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra for a night of music, dancing and fireworks at one of the island’s most beloved beaches.

ARRIVAL From Sweden will perform ABBA’s most memorable hits, including “Dancing Queen,” “Mama Mia,” “S.O.S,” “Take a Chance on Me,” in replica ABBA stage clothes, recreating the experience of one of the defining musical acts of the ‘70s.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of ABBA’s first hit, “Waterloo,” which propelled the group to international stardom. The band went on to become one of the top-selling music groups of all-time, with more than 10.5 million albums sold.

“We wanted our special guest to be inclusive, family-friendly, and give a performance that will engage the entire audience, so ARRIVAL From Sweden is the perfect match,” said Boston Pops on Nantucket co-chair Laurie Monahan. “The Pops played ‘Dancing Queen’ during last year’s concert and everyone on Jetties Beach was up out of their chair and dancing. ARRIVAL From Sweden will bring the music and energy for an unforgettable performance.”

ARRIVAL From Sweden follows previous special guests for the Boston Pops on Nantucket concert including Matthew Morrison, Michael Cavanaugh, Carly Simon, Linda Eder, Joel Grey, and Rockapella.
