Mike Mayes, 19, along with his mother, Catherine, will discuss the challenges he has experienced as a person with Austism, including bullying, socializing and making friends, as well as his many successes. Last year, he was selected to participate as one of 28 members of Governor Deval Patrick's Massachusetts Youth Council and was instrumental in lobbying for legislation against bullying. Catherine is the Autism Project Advocate for Mass Advocates for Children, and she also oversees programs in Plymouth County for the Asperger's Association of New England.
