Creating Art on Vestal Street
Join watercolorist Edwin Rudd, and Jascin Leonardo Finger, curator of the Mitchell House, for a look at the architecture of the MMA's Vestal St Campus and the artifacts found in its collections. Students will spend two classes learning from Rudd about the art of drawing and watercolors and at the same time will be given unique insight into the collections or buildings they are capturing in their work. Funds raised will benefit the Marla Ceely Lamb Cancer Travel Fund. Registration starts at 10:00 at the Faregrounds and the Walk begins at 11:00. After walking to Surfside Beach and back, there will be a complimentary cookout for the walkers (non walkers are also invited to join their friends for a donation of 10.00). This fund, set up by Marla Ceely Lamb, offsets the expenses our islanders incur while receiving necessary cancer treatments off island.
